Important Announcements June 14 2012

Hello everyone,

1. On Monday June 18th, we will have our annual band camp meeting. This meeting is to answer many questions regarding band camp and the program in general. The meeting is mandatory for all band, percussion, and color guard students in the marching band. The meeting begins at 7PM in the auditorium at VJA. Please email Mr. Iwinski if you have any questions. You will have a chance to meet the staff, Andrew Music Parents, and receive information about the camp itinerary.

Reminders

1. There will be an informational meeting for the upcoming Spring 2013 Orlando Trip on Tuesday the 29th at 7PM in the PAC. No obligation for the trip, all are welcome in band AND CHOIR. Please email Mr. Iwinski or Mr. Moan if you cannot make it but are interested in the trip!

2. Graduation band members, your rehearsal times are Monday and Wednesday this week from 3-4PM. The call time for graduation is 5:30PM on Wednesday in the band room. Please come in concert dress. All black on the bottom, boys dress slacks, girls dress slacks or skirt below the knee. All students must be in clean DRESS SHOES! White tops for all, dress polos, button up white shirts, or blouses are acceptable, no markings on any garment. See Mr. Iwinski with any questions. Percussionists will join the band this week for rehearsals and the ceremony on Monday and Wednesday.
 
3. The wind symphony’s last performance of the year is on Monday the 28th. All students including recently graduated seniors should arrive at VJA before 8:30AM. Concert dress is the same as graduation band. All black on the bottom, boys dress slacks, girls dress slacks or skirt below the knee. All students must be in clean DRESS SHOES! White tops for all, dress polos, button up white shirts, or blouses are acceptable, no markings on any garment. See Mr. Iwinski with any questions. This performance is at the village hall in honor of Memorial Day. We will perform at 10:00AM with a variety of American music. All family members are invited to this ceremony and we encourage you to attend. Any parents who would like to chaperone or volunteer to help with percussion equipment should contact Mr. Iwinski. Thank you in advance.
 
4. Lastly, thank you all for a wonderful year and I am so excited to get started with the Marching Thunderbolts again this summer and our new show. Band members, check out www.vjabands.com for part downloads very soon. I will also post a part listing so you can see what part you will play for this season. Have a great end of the year everyone!
